- The day
starts by picking you up at your motel or resort in Three Rivers in our comfortable air conditioned van and heading into
the park on the Generals Highway as it winds its way along the
beautiful Kaweah River
|
|
- Our first
stop will be along the river at Hospital Rock, where we will visit
an ancient Indian village and see the pictographs and bedrock
mortars that were left behind
|

- From there,
the highway climbs over 3000 feet to Giant Forest, and along the way
we'll stop at Amphitheater Point to enjoy views of Moro Rock and
points beyond
|
|
- After we
enter Giant Forest, home of the world's largest trees, we will make
our way to Moro Rock, where a short walk offers a stunning view of
the peaks of the Great Western Divide.
- Next we are
off to take a short stroll around Crescent
Meadow and then stop in for a visit at the new Giant Forest Museum with
its panoramic displays of the history of the Giant Sequoias

- It's time for
lunch and there is no better place than the Wuksachi Lodge.
The dining room is situated so you can sit and enjoy a view of the
forest and mountains through large picture windows. Moderately
priced meals. (lunch and gratuities not included in tour
price)

- Then it's
on to the General Sherman. Standing 274.9' (83.8 meters) tall, and
102.6' (31.3 meters) in circumference at its base, With 52,500 cubic
feet (1486.6 cubic meters) of wood, the General Sherman Tree earns
the title of the "World's Largest Living Thing."
- We'll then
stop by the Lodgepole Visitors Center and market.

- We'll
return to Three Rivers by in the afternoon and drop you off
comfortably at your motel or resort.
